By using BatteryTailor and purchasing any reports, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

 

1. About the Service

BatteryTailor is an online platform that generates personalised solar panel and battery storage optimisation reports for UK homeowners. Reports are based on data you provide and use industry-standard sources for solar irradiance, energy pricing, and equipment specifications.

 

Reports are provided as digital downloads at £7.99 per scenario and £24.99 for all four scenarios. Four scenarios are available: Lowest Upfront Cost, Most Environmentally Friendly, Balanced Optimisation, and Max Solar + Storage.

 

2. Educational Tool — Not Professional Advice

BatteryTailor provides educational estimates and recommendations only. The calculations, financial projections, and system recommendations generated by this service are estimates based on the information you provide and do not constitute professional, financial, or technical advice.

 

We are not licensed energy consultants, financial advisors, certified solar installers, or structural engineers. You should not rely solely on our reports when making purchasing decisions.

 

Before making any financial commitments or purchasing solar or battery systems, you must:

  • Consult with certified solar installation professionals

  • Obtain multiple quotes from licensed installers

  • Verify calculations independently

  • Have your property assessed by qualified surveyors

  • Review current government incentives and regulations

  • Consult a financial advisor regarding investment decisions

 

3. Payments

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. By purchasing a report you agree to pay the stated price of Reports, £7.99 per scenario and £24.99 for all four scenarios. Payment is required before the report is made available for download.

 

By requesting immediate digital delivery at the point of purchase, you acknowledge that the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply. Our full Refund Policy applies instead.

 

4. No Warranties

BatteryTailor is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We make no guarantees regarding:

  • Accuracy of recommendations or calculations

  • Actual system performance or energy savings

  • Financial returns or payback periods

  • Compatibility with your specific property

  • Future energy prices or government incentives

  • Product availability or pricing from manufacturers or installers

 

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, BatteryTailor and its operators are not liable for:

  • Financial losses resulting from decisions based on our reports

  • Installation issues, defects, or system performance problems

  • Changes in energy prices, regulations, or government incentive programmes

  • Third-party products, services, or installations

  • Actual energy savings or generation differing from projections

  • Any direct or indirect damages arising from use of this service

 

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the report in question.

 

6. Third-Party Products & Installers

BatteryTailor recommends products from third-party manufacturers and may refer you to installers. We do not sell, install, warranty, or service any products. All contracts are between you and the installer or retailer.

 

Where installer referral commissions are received, this will be disclosed clearly. Referral arrangements do not influence the independence of our optimisation recommendations.

 

7. Data Accuracy

While we use industry-standard data sources for solar irradiance, energy prices, and equipment specifications, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or currency of all data. Actual conditions and results may vary. It is your responsibility to verify data relevant to your specific property and circumstances.

 

8. Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, and reports generated by BatteryTailor are our intellectual property. Reports purchased are licensed for your personal use only and may not be resold, redistributed, or used for commercial purposes without our written consent.

 

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information when using the service

  • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy our algorithms or software

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose

  • Abuse the refund process or file fraudulent chargebacks

 

10. Your UK Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose.

 

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
