BatteryTailor is committed to customer satisfaction and fairness in all transactions. This Refund Policy explains how we handle refund requests for our paid PDF report service.
All reports are digital products delivered instantly upon payment. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.
1. Our Reports
BatteryTailor sells personalised solar and battery storage optimisation reports at £7.99 per scenario and £24.99 for all four scenarios.. Each report covers one optimisation scenario (Lowest Upfront Cost, Most Environmentally Friendly, Balanced Optimisation, or Max Solar + Storage) and includes financial projections, system recommendations, and installation guidance.
Reports are estimates based on the data you provide. They are not guarantees of savings, performance, or installer pricing.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
You may be eligible for a full refund in the following circumstances:
2.1 Technical Failure

The report failed to generate due to a technical error on our end

You were charged but did not receive your report within 24 hours

The report is blank, corrupted, or unreadable
2.2 Service Error

We processed your payment but the service was unavailable

Duplicate charges occurred due to a system error

You were overcharged due to a pricing error
2.3 Data Processing Error

The report contains obviously incorrect data (e.g. negative savings, impossible values)

Critical calculation errors that make the report unusable
3. Not Eligible for Refunds
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
3.1 Change of Mind

You changed your mind after receiving the report

You decided not to proceed with solar or battery installation

You found a different service
3.2 Disagreement with Estimates

You disagree with the savings or payback estimates

The recommendations do not match your expectations

Actual installer quotes differ from our estimates
3.3 External Factors

Your roof is unsuitable for solar (we cannot assess physical suitability)

Planning permission was denied

Installer quotes are higher than expected
3.4 Misunderstanding of Service

You expected installation services (we provide reports only)

You expected guaranteed results (we provide estimates only)

You did not read the disclaimers before purchasing
4. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund, contact us within 14 days of your purchase:

5. Refund Processing

Review period: We will review your request within 2 business days

Decision notification: You will be notified within 3 business days

Refund processing: If approved, refunds are issued within 5–7 business days

Refund method: Refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe
6. Partial Refunds
In some cases we may offer a partial refund rather than a full refund:

Minor errors: If the report has minor errors but remains usable, we may offer a 50% refund

Service delay: If the report was delayed but eventually delivered correctly, we may offer a 25% refund

Goodwill gesture: In exceptional circumstances we may offer a partial refund at our discretion
As an alternative to a refund, we may offer a free replacement report with corrected data.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a chargeback. We are committed to resolving issues quickly and fairly.
If you file a chargeback without contacting us first, we reserve the right to contest it with evidence of service delivery. Legitimate chargebacks (e.g. unauthorised charges, duplicate billing) will not be contested and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
8. Your UK Consumer Rights
Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose. This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights.
14-day cooling-off period: By requesting a report and agreeing to immediate digital delivery at the point of purchase, you acknowledge that the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to your purchase. You will confirm this explicitly before completing payment.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of BatteryTailor after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
