This Refund Policy explains our policy regarding refunds for BatteryTailor services. We are committed to customer satisfaction and fairness in all our transactions.
Free Beta Testing Period
Current Status: FREE BETA
During the beta testing period, all BatteryTailor services are provided FREE of charge.
Since there is no payment required:
• No refunds are necessary (service is free)
• Users may cancel or stop using the service at any time
• No payment information is collected
• No financial commitment required
Beta testing participants acknowledge that:
• The service is experimental and under development
• Reports and recommendations are estimates only
• Results are not guaranteed
• The service is provided "as-is" without warranties
Future Paid Services (Post-Beta)
When BatteryTailor transitions to a paid service, the following refund policy will apply:
Digital Products and Reports
BatteryTailor optimization reports are digital products delivered instantly upon completion.
Eligibility for Refunds
You may be eligible for a full refund if:
1. Technical Failure
• The report failed to generate due to a technical error on our end
• You were charged but did not receive your report within 24 hours
• The report is completely blank, corrupted, or unreadable
2. Service Error
• We processed your payment but our service was unavailable
• Duplicate charges occurred due to a system error
• You were overcharged due to a pricing error
3. Data Processing Error
• The report contains obviously incorrect data (e.g., negative savings, impossible values)
• System failed to process your input data correctly
• Critical calculation errors that make the report unusable
NOT Eligible for Refunds
You are not eligible for a refund if:
1. Change of Mind
• You changed your mind after receiving the report
• You decided not to proceed with solar/battery installation
• You found a different service or solution
2. Disagreement with Estimates
• You disagree with the savings estimates
• The recommendations don't match your expectations
• Actual installer quotes differ from our estimates
• You believe the payback period is too long
3. External Factors
• Your roof is unsuitable for solar (we cannot assess physical suitability)
• Planning permission was denied
• You cannot afford the recommended system
• Installer quotes are higher than expected
4. Misunderstanding of Service
• You thought we provided installation services (we don't)
• You expected guaranteed results (we provide estimates only)
• You didn't read the disclaimers before purchasing
Important Limitations
BatteryTailor provides ESTIMATES and RECOMMENDATIONS only. We do not:
• Guarantee savings amounts
• Guarantee payback periods
• Provide site surveys or physical assessments
• Install solar panels or batteries
• Guarantee system performance
• Provide financial advice
All reports include clear disclaimers explaining these limitations.
Refund Request Process
How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund:
1. Contact us within 14 days of your purchase
2. Provide the following information:
• Your order/reference number
• Date of purchase
• Email address used for purchase
• Detailed reason for refund request
• Evidence of the issue (screenshots, error messages, etc.)

Refund Processing Timeline
• Review period: We will review your request within 2 business days
• Decision notification: You will be notified of our decision within 3 business days
• Refund processing: If approved, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
• Refund method: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
What We Need to Approve Your Refund
To process your refund request, we may ask you to provide:
• Screenshot or copy of the report showing the error
• Description of what went wrong
• Evidence of technical failure (if applicable)
• Order confirmation email
• Payment receipt
Partial Refunds
In some cases, we may offer a partial refund or credit instead of a full refund:
Partial Refund Scenarios:
1. Minor errors: If the report has minor errors but is still usable, we may offer a 50% refund
2. Service delay: If the report was delayed but eventually delivered correctly, we may offer 25% refund
3. Goodwill gesture: In exceptional circumstances, we may offer a partial refund as a goodwill gesture
Report Credit:
Instead of a refund, we may offer:
• A free replacement report with corrected data
• Credit toward a future report
• Complimentary upgrade to premium features (when available)
Exceptions and Special Cases
Fraudulent Activity
No refunds will be issued for:
• Suspected fraudulent transactions
• Chargebacks that are later proven invalid
• Multiple refund requests from the same user (abuse)
Force Majeure
Refunds may be delayed or adjusted in cases of:
• Natural disasters
• System outages beyond our control
• Government restrictions
• Payment processor failures
Chargebacks
Before Filing a Chargeback:
Please contact us first. We are committed to resolving issues fairly and quickly.
If you file a chargeback without contacting us:
• We will contest the chargeback with evidence of service delivery
• Your account may be suspended
• You may be banned from future use of BatteryTailor
Legitimate Chargebacks:
If you file a legitimate chargeback (e.g., unauthorized charge, duplicate billing), we will not contest it and will work with you to resolve the issue.
Consumer Rights (UK)
Your Legal Rights
Under UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to:
1. Digital content to be as described
• Our reports must match our service description
• If they don't, you may be entitled to a refund
2. Digital content to be of satisfactory quality
• Reports must be readable, accurate in calculation, and usable
• If not, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund
3. 14-day cooling-off period (Distance Selling Regulations)
• However, by requesting a report, you agree to immediate delivery
• This waives your cooling-off period for the digital product
• You acknowledge this before purchasing
This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK law.
